Where you are acting in person without a solicitor you will need to ensure that your letter of claim fully complies with the procedural rules. This letter of claim is suitable for sending to a defendant when claiming compensation for personal injuries in relation to an accident. It complies fully with the requirements of the Civil Procedure Rules Personal Injury Pre-Action Protocol and includes space for you to set out the circumstances of the accident. The defendant is given 21 days to acknowledge receipt of the letter and refer it to his/her insurers.
