Small Claims Guide

This guide is intended for anyone who is thinking of (or already involved with) making or defending a ‘small’ claim in the county court; that is a claim worth under £5000 (or under £1000 for personal injury claims). Because it is difficult to recover legal costs in these cases, individuals and businesses are often left to deal with such claims themselves and this guide is designed as an aid. Claims may relate to monies owed, poor workmanship, damage to property, personal injury, faulty goods etc and the guide covers such aspects as costs, procedure and settling a case.
