A Lasting Power of Attorney cannot be used until it has been registered with the Office of the Public Guardian. It can be registered at any time after it has been made, but the benefit of registering it shortly after it has been made is that it will be ready to be used by the Attorney(s) when it is needed.
We will deal with the formalities of registration including:
completing of the relevant application forms submission of the forms to the PGO considering any requisitions/objections legal advice throughout
The registration process usually takes four to five weeks. This is to allow time for everyone who has received a Notice of the attorney's intention, to consider and decide if they want to register an objection to the application. The PGO waits a statutory 35 days from the date the last notice was sent or given before it formally registers the EPA.
The price of this service does not include the the Application Fee (currently £220).
Your matter will be personally handled by Rupert Bedford who is a qualified solicitor with over 15 years experience in private client matters.
