Agreement for the Supply of Work and Materials to a Consumer

This is an agreement for the supply of goods and services relating to small building works to be carried out on the consumer's house.

The introduction draws the attention of the consumer to the importance of the terms in the document and makes it more difficult for him to claim later that he never read the terms, or did not realise their importance.

The first two parts set out the positive responsibilities which the contractor and consumer respectively are agreeing to undertake under the agreement. The third part states clearly those things which the contractor does not undertake, and the risks the consumer will run if he does not comply with certain specific instructions as to maintenance of the contract works after completion. The fourth part relates to payment of the contract price by way of a deposit with the balance on completion. The fifth part sets out the consumers rights to cancel.
