WE OFFER A SPECIALIST SERVICE IN DRAFTING, CHECKING AND/OR ADVISING ON COMMERCIAL CONTRACTS AND AGREEMENTS.

1. OVERVIEW

We have developed a specialist practice in advising businesses on commercial contracts. We act for businesses of all sizes - large corporations, medium sized businesses, partnerships, sole traders, one-man bands, associations, clubs and many other types of organisation.

You may need a contract or agreement drafted to your requirements (our 'Contract Drafting Service'). Alternatively you may need us to consider and advise you on a draft contract that has been provided to you (our 'Contract Checking Service'). In either case you may also need us to assist you with negotiating the terms of the contract with another party (our 'Contract Negotiating Service').

2. THE OPTIONS

Contract Drafting Service

We offer several different options. The first is for you to buy one of our 'off the shelf' documents. These are comprehensively drafted commercial documents which come with helpful guidance notes. The documents, whilst not cheap, are certainly the most speedy and cost-effective way of obtaining a professional contract template to cover your situation.

Once you have purchased the document you may wish us to assist you with modifying it to your requirements and/or negotiating it's terms with another party.

Buying an 'off the shelf' contract will not suit all businesses and we therefore offer a 'bespoke' drafting service for those who require it. This inevitably works out more expensive but ensures that the contract or agreement is tailored to your specific requirements.

Contract Checking Service

We are regularly approached by businesses and organisations who have been sent draft contracts for consideration and approval by another party (or their legal advisers). These tend to be the smaller business or association who does not have its own corporate legal department at its disposal but, quite sensibly, wishes to ensure that there are no nasty surprises lurking in the small print.

If, in addition to checking and advising you on the terms of the Contract, you also wish us to negotiate any amendments with the other party then we can certainly do this for you.

Contract Negotiating Service

Commercial contracts/agreements will often need some negotiation between the parties in order to end up with a contract acceptable to both parties. In many cases this may involve minor amendments but in some it will involve more substantial re-drafting. We can assist either party to a contract (though not, of course, both parties!) and, whilst our primary concern is to ensure that our client's position is protected, we do try at all times to take a constructive approach which will hopefully strengthen the commercial relationship between the parties.
